Member - Mike Hill

Principal - REM Hill & Associates

Mr. Hill is the Principal of REM HILL & ASSOCIATES a provider of management services to the small organization market. He holds an Engineering Technology Certificate of the Ontario Association of Professional Engineers and certificates in Commercial Credit Analysis, Market Analysis and Commodity Futures Trading.

Since 1995, he has carried out a number of Business Development Bank of Canada assignments while concurrently developing his own management consulting practice. He has lead or been a team member on projects including a marketing analysis for an Arctic Gateway, a business analysis and feasibility study for a short line railway and for research projects designed to identify investor decision making criteria and the development of small business leadership in rural Manitoba.

He spent close to twenty-five years in the Commercial Finance and Leasing Industry holding management responsibilities in Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta, then for six years was the Director of Marketing for the Winnipeg location of an International professional service organization.

Michael is an enthusiastic facilitator, skilled at assisting organizations to develop a clear identity, in determining external threats, and in developing and implementing activities for achieving higher goals. A pragmatic practitioner he starts from wisely chosen fundamentals useful in capitalizing on identified opportunities.

Mr. Hill is a past Board member of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce (President 1988-89), The University of Winnipeg (1990-99), the Winnipeg Downtown Business Improvement Zone (1992-95), the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (1984-90) and Honorary British Consul in Manitoba. He was a member of a number of Committees and task forces including the Mayor’s 1989 ad-hoc Committee responsible for developing a Winnipeg economic development strategy and the committee studying the economic impact of Winnipeg’s International Airport.

Michael has served as Britain’s Honorary Consul in Manitoba.
